Don't get emotionally attached to someone who's won't be there forever. That's like putting all your eggs into a basket that's being taken away the next day.
I find that friends who fight a lot and argue a lot often have the strongest bonds and connections and are ultimate ALWAYS there for one another, whether the other person notices it or not.
Like in cards...you NEVER show your hand...to anyone....this translates into...you can tell your friends a lot of things...but you don't tell anyone everything. The closest thing is probably telling someone MOSTLY everything...but not everything...what happens when you show people your cards...they know what you have...and can tell if they have a better hand or not....hence they have the upper hand....life is like poker...play smart son.
