Do you still remember when you said you first loved me
Or does your heart still ache when you think of me
Because I know youre surrounded by this lovey dovey
But the pain in your heart tells a different story
I can see deep inside that you wanna cry
I see pain when I look deep into your eyes
Cuz we were once so strong but we fell apart
I was youre light, now Im gone, so youre in the dark
Do you still think about me like I think about you
Or do you only think about what we couldve been through
Because the past has passed and the future is far
I use to want to be everywhere that you are
Now I live in the present, one step at a time
Climbing the ladder, so I can get whats rightfully mine
Cuz everyday you know a star is born
So this a message to the haters, yall have been warned

Im shooting for the skies, so theres no looking back
I think I finally got my mind on track
Cuz Ive been balancing a lot, got me stressed as hell
But certain people in my life, picked me up when I fell
I feel reborn, like a phoenix rising from the ashes
Or like a unicorn to the rainbow it dashes
Cuz I aint perfect and I never ever will be
But I am the closest thing that you ever will see
I keep things real, Im a simple kinda guy
But I also have dreams, sometimes I wish I could fly
Fly, fly away to a distant place
Just me and her, the rest we could erase
Im tryna do me while the haters bash me
Its funny cuz me is who they really wanna be
I wont fail cuz Im destined to succeed
All of my expectations, Ill greatly exceed

But I cant and this love game is nearing its end
I loved you is the message I was tryna send
But it failed, so I guess this thing was never meant to be
And I guess the world was never meant to see
See, see me and you hand in hand
Through all the heartaches, united wed stand
But when united you stand, you know divided you must fall
I really thought we had the chance to conquer it all
We had hopes and dreams of happily ever after
But like rotten fruit you know your heart turned sour
From friends to lovers, never lovers to friends
I guess this is the part where our love story ends
