Hurricane Season

Ok so I saw this trailer a while ago but I didn't know when the movie came out until my friend Omar told me. I just finished the movie about 10 minutes ago and it was amazing. It's a true story about Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Forest Whitaker, a coach of a basketball team takes players from a bunch of different high schools after the hurricane causes a bunch of people to move. He believes he can take them to the State Championships and win, he and his team go through hardships and struggles, they learn about teamwork and cohesiveness. Altogether an amazing movie and a must watch. Oh btw if you plan on watching the movie, don't watch the video below cuz it kinda ruins it, if you don't think it's a good movie or don't think it's worth it, watch this and yes it'll ruin it but after watching it, you'll find it's worth watching.

From the beat, to the chorus, to the powerful lyrics. Wow man, DMX's gospel album "You'll Fly With Me Later" is gonna be sooooo goooood. This song is featuring a female songstress named Janyce with a nice voice who does the chorus some real justice. Wow this song is just amazing, I'm speechless, pay attention to the lyrics as well...

This is the song I'm currently into at the moment. You should check out the artist Chief WaKil, he's crazy good. His mixtape "Hack This" is a must listen, he goes in on beats like "Drake - Successful" and even "Owl City - Fireflies". This dude is deep and his lyrics are powerful. This song speaks to me on so many different levels. I heard it a while back and I loved it and the group itself. Their first video "I Can't Hear The Music" was amazing. This is their second single, kinda old but not a lot of people know about them. I'm at a point in my life where nothing is holding me down, I'm not stressed surprisingly and my mind is just blank. I'm just relaxing, this song describes a recent time in my life, that I'm not too sad or happy about, I'm neutral about it lol. But you know I felt like I lost my soul and who I was over this girl. A lot of things are left unsaid but we're still good I think. She's gone...and I hope she's on to better things, I know I sure am. So I leave you to enjoy this hopefully, this is my throwback song for now. I was on this song and this group for a good while and the hyped kinda died down. Alright so this is me, experimenting with this. I'm use to writing poetry and I decided to try this out cuz I felt like this poem needed to be expressed by me. Bear with me and be honest.

To discuss something on my mind

Cuz I just don’t know

The '09 Wrap Up

So as 2009 comes to an end and we approach 2010, I look back on some standout events in my life. This isn't one of my better works in my opinion, but it came from the heart, check it out and leave any feedback if you like/hate it or how it makes you feel, or any standout events in your life or felt I should have added.

A lot of things have happened
This past year
I've become a new man
And I've shed a couple tears
But no pain amounts
To the pain from love

It's something we get so sick of

We all jumped on this new school hip hop

But none can compare to the hype Drake received

Then there's J.Cole a new comer
Said to be the new Drake
Providing deep, insightful lyrics
That just makes your soul quake
There was also a huge problem
Differentiating real and fake
Cuz these people around me
Just take, take, take
They never give anything back
They just take my heart
Stomp on it a little
Then just tear it apart
So I found myself trusting people a lot less
And I was overwhelmed with stress
I was one huge mess
There's a lot much more
That happened this year
But we don't have the time
To go through it here
I wanna end off by sharing
Something that I've learned
That respect is not something deserved
But something that's earned

Ya know this year had been filled with some good and some bad, some ups and some downs, some highs and some lows. We've all been there, we all have stories we all know what it feels. From school, to friends to love. We all got stories we all got issues. Don't be afraid to say what's on your mind cuz of how you'll be perceived or looked upon. Do whatever you feel is right and best for you. I've made a lot of decisions based upon advice from friends, family and all and my decision and mind has been influenced a lot, some I regret, some I don't. It's alright to listen to them, but you don't gotta do what they say. Do what's in your heart. A little thing called love has been really bothering me lately and my heart says one thing, my mind says one thing, and my friends say another thing. Sometimes you just need to free yourself from all your burdens and just relax and free your mind. When your mind, your head and your heart are clear, you'll know what's right to do.

Alright so before I head off, I'm gonna leave you guys with this. It's a song that really spoke to me when I first heard it. As a matter a fact, the album itself "Ready", is just indescribable. I'm talking about Trey Songz, this dude is just outta this world. So I leave you with what I think is his best song off the album. Got a great tune and whatnot, but pay attention to the lyrics as well. One Mind. One Heart. One Love.

Here We Go...

Alright so this is the beginning of my blog. They call me Rodmond, but y'all can call me RT. I'm pretty hyped...can't lie. I got the idea from my friends who started a blog.
